Art in the Air

My local library here in the Bronx has amazing programming for the general public to participate in. Working with library manager Dawn Holloway, who allowed me to install artwork in the library, and targeting children, teens, adults, senior and special needs, dozens of people were involved in the creation of Art in the Air. This programming is made possible with public funds from Bronx Council on the Arts through the New York State Council on the Arts.

Now that the program is over, it was calculated that 309 people collaborated on Art in the Air!!  Lets’ hope funding for next years program – “Art Recycled” is granted!

Paracord!!! The amazing material I’ve been working with  – strong, lightweight, colorful, indoor/outdoor and cheap, it is perfect to use for knitting, crochet, knotting and macrame, as seen in my Hanging Garden installation. I’ve really enjoyed sharing it with other people to get creative with! Special public event and celebration for Art in the Air – October 28th, Bronx, NY 10462 at New York Public Library, Morris Park Branch, 3:45pm – 4:45pm.
