Poetry in the Air

The ‘Art in the Air’ program that I began in 2018 at Parkchester Library in the Bronx continued this year in a new dynamic way with guest collaborator – talented poet and artist Orlando Ferrand.

With 2 grants from Bronx Council on the Arts we embarked on a very fun, very challenging and ultimately engaging public art program for the community and patrons of the library with an indoor and outdoor art installation.

This program involved creative writing, calligraphy, and writing original thoughts and words onto all kinds of balls – mylar balloons, latex balloons, rubber balls, and beach balls! As colorful and different the spheres were, so were the powerful words representing our local Bronx people.

Sometimes pictures speak for themselves, so I am uploading a bunch of pics!
