HANGING GARDEN – a crochet workshop series

I created an installation called Hanging Garden for a Montefiore Health System courtyard in 2016.

After the installation came down, it became the property of the dust bunnies under my bed. My new friends at Morris Park Business Improvement District asked me for help with trying to make our local community garden attractive and eye catching. So I decorated the entrance with remnants from that installation.

Long story short, one year later I have received an Arts Fund grant from Bronx Council on the Arts to further extend the Paracord decorations along the fencing of the garden. Paracord is the most wonderful thing. 550 Paracord is about 1/4 inch thick, super strong, comes in all sorts of bright colors, and is supple enough for crochet and crafting. Through my experience with working with Paracord Galaxy I was able to identify specific Paracord that is more colorfast. All skill levels are welcome to help us work on uplifting, revitalizing, and beautifying our Morris Park neighborhood community Garden this Spring, 2022! How much of this fence can we decorate? The more involvement by participants the more we can do!

The fencing of Morris Park Community Garden which we hope to decorate as much as possible!
